[A] Budget: Looking for Proposal

[B] Scope of Service:

(1) Vendor needs to provide architectural and consulting services for the rehabilitation of the exterior of city hall, also known as the municipal building to the government authority located in Trenton, NJ.
• Repairing and replacing sections of the existing plaza slab and replacing or repairing broken and ineffective water drains;
• Providing new appropriate foundations for the stairway and resetting and replacing broken granite steps;
• Refurbishing the two original ornate bronze light standards for the main entrance and selecting compatible replacements for other locations (4);
• Refurbishing and reinstalling the 3 existing bronze hanging fixtures for the front portico currently stored in the basement.
• Replacing the missing ceiling fixtures for the 11 locations above the mayor’s balcony;
• Refurbishing the remaining bronze globe light wall fixtures (2) and replacing in two (2) locations with fixtures to match;
• Refurbishing, cleaning and sealing the 3 sets of bronze gates to make them operational;
• Replacing damaged sections of mosaic floor and ceiling tiles at the main entrance vestibule; clean and seal the existing tiles.
• Replacing the missing cast iron urns on the front plinths;
• Providing new electrical wiring and conduits, include photocells and timers to serve the refurbished and replacement fixtures;
• Replacing the modern flood lights with more sensitive LED fixtures to illuminate the building at night;
• Providing appropriate landscape plantings to provide shade and enhance the architecture, including a tree appropriate for holiday decoration;
• Replacing the missing bronze handrails and balusters with a consideration of an alternate material to deter theft;
• Providing a sidewalk extension at southeast entrance for ADA compliance;
• Providing an additional handicapped access to the east side of the plaza;
• Removing the town and country lighting standards (4) and foundations, which are inappropriate for the architectural period;
• Providing an updated detailed cost estimate; and
• Providing a detailed, targeted maintenance plan for the historic elements of the building’s exterior.
(2) All questions must be submitted no later than February 3, 2021.
(3) A pre-proposal meeting will be held on January 25, 2021.
(4) Contract term will be three years.
