[*] Scope of Service:

Vendor needs to provide CART services.
- Transcription services of words from English into electronic written format for the deaf/hard of hearing on an as needed basis
- CART providers or captioners or transcribers will be used in deaf students' classrooms, events, meetings, etc. across campus to satisfy their accommodations. Transcription services will also be used for most events open to the public
- To access the learning management system, transcribers will need to complete a guest access form for Human Resources.
- Consistent service, assigning specific transcribers to a given course so that the transcriber can continually build their familiarity with the material being taught
- Transcribes basic and higher-level academic classes, lectures, student activity events, and other special events as needed, where transcription would be required
- Review notes and course outline, preview required texts, and course materials, and speaks with faculty, speaker, and/or students to obtain a course understanding for effective communication
- Works cooperatively with department staff, faculty, college staff, students, and administrators
- Provides and performs transcription assignment at alternative sites as needed with pre-approval from the Deaf/HH Coordinator
- When in-person transcribers are not available, the contractor must be able to provide remote transcribers
- Provide an edited transcription within 24 to 48 hours of the class meeting or event to the student for academic settings or to the event requestor for non-academic jobs.
