Vendor needs to provide architectural standards and best practices guidebook services to the government authority located in Hoover, AL.
- To engage in a planning effort centered on architectural guidelines for (re)development of commercial real estate and design best practices for future projects.
1. Architectural standards:
• Architectural Standards that will provide guidance for City staff and the City’s Planning and Zoning Commission in the review of development proposals that involve public financing, incentives, or other public private partnerships.
• The policy of high quality design expectations should include recommendations regarding site layout, colors, materials.
• It is expected that the standards would be used in negotiations with developers and property owners and thus would have a more formal and descriptive narrative structure.
• Topics should include the pedestrian realm, sidewalks, street furnishings, street signage, landscaping, building transitions, lighting, walls, fencing, screening, signage, utilities, placement, massing, entry, articulation, materiality.
2. Design guidebook:
• Design Guidebook that will clarify and visually describe the design best practices for future (re)development in the City of Hoover. This will be a public-facing document created to inspire a high-quality built environment in the City.
• The Best Practices Guidebook should be graphically appealing, concise, and organized to provide an easy-to-read document for readers.
• Guidebook should include a mix of text, photographs, illustrations drawings.
